Studies Abroad

The University of Mary Washington currently offers a faculty-lead programs of studies abroad:

Spanish Language & Interdisciplnary Studies

in Bilbao, Spain
Dr. Jose Sainz, Program Director

(jsainz@umw.edu, 540-654-1261)

Since 2001, UMW in Spain has been offering students summer, semester, or year-long courses of study in language, culture, and literature, as well as courses in business, economics, political science and international affairs at our partner institution, Universidad de Deusto.  Students enrolled in semester or year-long terms also have the opportunity to apply for an internship in various fields.

Additionally, the university cooperates with a variety of other overseas study programs (i.e.: Academia Latinoamericana in Ecuador). Students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisors before deciding on non-UMW programs to discuss course offerings, approvals and credit transfer matters.  For more information on partner progams, please also visit the Center for International Education located in the 4th floor in Lee Hall.
