Co-president: Ally Tingen

Hi, my name is Ally Tingen and I am one of the co-presidents of Psi Chi this year! I am a senior psychology major and neuroscience minor. I hope to attend graduate school to study clinical or biological psychology. Outside of classes, you can find me running around the rec field with UMW’s club ultimate frisbee team. I have loved being a part of Psi Chi and I can’t wait for a great year!

Co-president: Sofia Taylor

Hi everyone! My name is Sofia Taylor (she/her) and I am a senior this year. I am a psychology major with, a music and neuroscience double minor. I am a psi chi co-president, psych rep, and the CSL coordinator for the psych department. I am on Dr. Stebbins’ research team this year looking at chronotype and procrastination. So you will definitely see me around Mercer! In terms of my hobbies, I love to sing opera, teach yoga, and read romance novels. I also work at Campus Rec as the Group Fitness Coordinator as well as an Instructor. If you have an interest in becoming a group fitness instructor let me know! Fun fact about me is I am from Detroit, Michigan.

Secretary: Noel Shenk

Hello all! My name is Noel Shenk and I am a Senior Psychology major with a minor in neuroscience, and I am the current Secretary for Psi Chi! This will be my second year as a member and an officer of Psi Chi (last year I was the fundraising coordinator). After UMW, I hope to attend graduate school, get either my Psy.D or Ph.D. in Psychology, and eventually become a clinical psychologist. When I’m not here in Mercer, you will catch me working at my job on campus as an SRA, hanging with friends around town, trying out new recipes, or listening to true-crime podcasts. I’m looking forward to working with you all this year!

Treasurer: Sana Aftab

Hi, everyone! My name is Sana and I’m this year’s treasurer for Psi Chi! I’m a senior and double majoring in biology and psychology here at UMW. My ultimate aspiration is to conduct research in anything related to behavioral neuroscience. In my spare time, I’m a total nerd. If you’re into anything from video games, to comics, books, and TV shows, definitely come say, “Hi!”  Also, I also have a cat named Nami that is my precious little gremlin.

Social Media Chair: Ainsley Logar

Hi! My name is Ainsley Logar and I am a junior Psychology major and the Social Media Chair for Psi Chi this year. After college I would like to work in either clinical psychology or animal psychology. In my free time I enjoy cross-stitching, reading, and traveling. I also have two cats named Hamilton and Lafayette!

Fundraising Coordinator: Ameer Abdel-Muhsin

Hey folks! My name is Ameer! I’m a psych major and this is my last year here at UMW, but my first being a part of Psi Chi. I’m a Fredericksburg native and I’ve lived here all my life. When I’m outside of Mercer hall, I love to hunt, cook, and I’m a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. 

Service Outreach Coordinator: Isabella Wilson

Hi everyone! My name is Isabella and I’m from Woodbridge, Virginia. This is my third year at UMW and I’m a psychology major. In addition to being a Psi Chi officer, I’m also a lab aide for the psychology department! I plan on pursuing a career in clinical psychology or developmental psychology.
