Dr. Natalie Kerr, Graduate in Residence 2017

Natalie Kerr, a professor of psychology at James Madison University, is this year's Graduate in Residence for the Psychology Department. Kerr graduated from UMW in '95 and went on to receive a master of arts in experimental psychology from Hollins University as well as a doctorate in social psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Kerr will be giving a lecture titled “From the Bedroom to the Highway: The Science of Smartphone Addiction and Distraction” on Thursday, Sept. 28. Her lecture will take place in the Hurley Convergence Center Digital Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.  Dr. Kerr will also be having a lunch with students who are interested in her work and might be interested in entering a similar field. The catered lunch with be in Mercer 209 on Thursday September 29th at 12:30 and is limited to 15 Students.
