UMW in Provence
This summer (2015) will be the first time for this hybrid program .
- 3 weeks in Aix-en-Provence and 1 week in Paris
- Aix is 30 minutes from the Mediterranean, 2 hours from Italy, and 4 hours from Spain by car.
- E.L. or G.I. Gen Ed credit AND 6 c.u.
- In Aix you will be students at IAU College
- As part of the IAU program we will take a regional trip to the Luberon or the Gorges de Verdon
- Homestays with all breakfasts and 6 dinners per week are included in the Price. (Dorms are available for $25 more per student/night but don’t include meals. You could also find your own apartment if you desire.)
- In Paris we will stay in double rooms at the FIAP
- You will take my class on Impressionism (ARTH 260) and can choose from the following as well:
- Studio Art: Photography (ARTS 241), Sculpture (ARTS 231)
- French: FREN 101, 102, 105, 201, 202, 205, 311, 312, 411, 412
- IA or PSCI Elective: Media and Conflict
- IA or PSCI Elective: Geopolitics of the Mediterranean Basin
- IA or PSCI Elective: Security & Development in a Globalized World
- Psychology: Abnormal Psychology (PSYC 311), Human Sexuality (PSYC 349)
- For the Impressionism class we will visit:
- Renoir Museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer
- Matisse museum in Nice
- Monet’s house and gardens in Giverny
- VanGogh’s House & Impressionism museum in Auvers-sur-Oise
- Musee d’Orsay
- Orangerie
- In Paris you will have 4 free days to explore. I will be available to help you arrange visits and to accompany you when desired.
