On Saturday, September 7, please join The Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, Inc. in downtown Fredericksburg for their second annual Vintage Route 1 event! Visitors will get to follow Route 1 downtown and learn about how the “highway” changed Fredericksburg forever.Take a tour of Lafayette Boulevard or Princess Anne Street and learn the history of the Original Route 1 that came right through downtown Fredericksburg. Riverfront Park will have restored classic cars on display from the Historic Fredericksburg Region AACA. There will be a plethora of children’s activities, including the HFFI Jr. Archaeology Lab where kids can learn how to clean and tag real artifacts! Vendors and entertainment will be running all day and the Annual Vintage Fashion Show will be taking place right in the park at 3:00 pm. The Masonic Lodge at 803 Princess Anne Street is allowing HFFI to present their Fredericksburg 20th-century history exhibit in Baker Hall. Streetcar and walking tours of downtown will be departing from this location as well as wonderful shopping opportunities inside at the HFFI Bookstore.
