Students newly inducted into GTU at the annual Awards Banquet pose with their certificates.

Gamma Theta Upsilon  (GTU) is the International Geographical Honor Society. To be inducted, students must have earned 15 credits in Geography with an overall and major GPA of 3.3.

Delta Mu is the Mary Washington chapter of GTU; it was founded in 1971 with 25 charter members.

The initiation ceremony takes place at the Geography Spring Awards Banquet in April each year. Students receive certificates of membership. At graduation, members wear tri-color honor cords.

Delta Mu sponsors the annual Symposium and Awards Banquet, and sometimes other events during the academic year.
