Denis Nissim‑Sabat, Professor of Psychology, earned a Ph.D. (1976) in clinical psychology at Temple University, after receiving a B.A. (1969) in psychology at Case Western Reserve University (Ohio). He also has served as senior policy analyst in the public policy office of the American Psychological Association. In 1998, he served on the staff of U.S. Senator Paul Simon as a specialist on national healthcare issues, a position he held as a recipient of an American Psychological Association (APA) Congressional Science Fellowship. His work included travel to the (then) Soviet Union to participate in a forum on U.S.‑Soviet dialogue. As a member of the APA’s Committee on International Relations in Psychology, he is an expert on psychology and public policy, and on Russian psychology. In addition, he belongs to the National Register of Health Service Providers and has written widely on such topics as healthcare, the insanity defense, and methods and techniques in teaching psychology.
