The English, Linguistics, and Communication Club is a student-initiated, official UMW club that was established with the goal of enabling a solid community of language lovers:  creating a connection within the ELC community, establishing bonds between the students and faculty, and opening opportunities to network with alumni.

  • a monthly Q & A session with individual professors,
  • trips to book readings conducted in downtown Fredericksburg and within the state,
  • visits to performances in DC/on campus,
  • social events,
  • movie nights.

SPRING 2016 EVENTS

 The ELC Club Book Drive runs from January to April 2016 and supports Books for America, an organization that sorts the books and gives them to the people that need it most (school systems, libraries, shelters, prisons, etc.).  Books for America provides the following guidelines for what it can accept, so please review before donating: Book Drive guidelinesAnd please be generous!
