Dr. Ohl Publishes Essay on Drone Imagery

Professor Ohl has recently published an essay in The Quarterly Journal of Speech 101.4 (2016) entitled “Nothing to See or Fear: Light War and the Boring Visual Rhetoric of U.S. Drone Imagery,” which theorizes a transformation in twenty-first-century war rhetoric through an analysis of U.S. drone imagery and the concept of “light war,” a mode of violence that operates more freely by placing fewer demands on public reception, participation, and approval.
