First place: Rachel Finston is an English-Creative Writing (finston-rachel): Creative Writing major; Runner-up: Kristin Frye is a Geography major (frye-kristin). The writer of the winning essay received a check of $750, the runner-up a check of $500, from the Fredericksburg Coalition of Reason. Both read their essays on January 15, 2017 at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library at the meeting commemorating the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom.
