New Student Advising

New Student Advising

A smooth transition into the university is the cornerstone to your success as a BLS student. After acceptance into the program, each new BLS student is asked to make an initial advising appointment. This first meeting will provide the new student with an in-depth introduction to the BLS Program and UMW in general. Among the areas discussed at this first meeting include transfer credit evaluation, accessing information, degree requirements, and how to register for classes.

Each semester the BLS Program conducts a mandatory Group Orientation for incoming students. It is imperative that all new students attend this Group Orientation since students will learn how to access programs such as email, Banner and Blackboard, and how to access the online courses available for registration.
