Admission to the BLS Degree Program


Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Bachelor of Liberal Studies Degree program, applicants must demonstrate their ability to succeed in college level coursework by earning a minimum grade point average of 2.5/4.0 in their previous college coursework. Students interested in completing their Bachelor’s degree in any of the majors offered in the College of Arts and Sciences or earning a Bachelor in the Leadership and Management major or other special majors are encouraged to apply. B.A. or B.S. students already enrolled who have earned less than 30 credit hours at UMW may transfer into the BLS program by reapplying to Admissions. Students who did not apply to BLS but who would have qualified for the program at the time of admission, may also request to transfer. Please see Undergraduate Catalog for admission requirements.

Applications are available on the Admissions site. You may also apply by calling the UMW Office of Admissions at 540/654-2000, 540/286-8088 or by email at Applicants should request that official transcripts from their high school and each college and/or university attended be sent to the Office of Admissions. Additionally, any standardized test scores or official military and professional coursework transcripts should be forwarded for consideration for academic credit.
