Gallery VC Exhibition Proposal Guidelines
Gallery VC is currently accepting proposals for two-person shows for the 2010-2011 exhibition calendar. You may submit your work individually or as a pair. If you submit individually and are accepted, the gallery will pair you with another accepted artist. If you submit your work as a pair, each artist should submit 5-7 images on the same CD. Consider the possibility of collaborative work.
To be considered for an exhibition at Gallery VC, please submit the following to Rosemary Jesionowski:
- 5-7 images of your work on a CD. Please save files as JPEGS, 300dpi, 1800 pixels in the widest dimension.
o The images you submit may either be the exact pieces you propose to exhibit or they may be indicative of the work you propose to exhibit.
o **do not submit images of works that are unrelated to your proposal.
o Please make sure that your images are of good quality- in focus, well lit, simple background, etc.
- An image list to correspond with your CD.
o Include title, date, medium, and size
- A 1-2 paragraph artist statement regarding the work you propose to exhibit. Please address the content of the work.
- Please label the CD, the statement, and the image list with your name and email address.
Please keep in mind the limitations/possibilities of the space-
- Work must be relatively dimensionally shallow- nothing more than 6” deep can be shown in this space.
- The gallery is often bathed in dim light as the space also serves as the auditorium for the Fredericksburg Visitor Center (where they play a movie about Fredericksburg and the surrounding area).
Deadlines:
For a Fall Semester exhibition: Oct 1 (you will receive notification by October 8 )
For a Spring Semester exhibition: Dec 1 (you will receive notification by Dec 8 )
For educational purposes, all proposals will be returned with feedback on the proposal package (not the artwork).
